I got to listen to KPFA some of my growing up years and have always considered it an invaluable source of information to help understand what is happening in the world. I'm a mathematician by training, grew up around the world, (my father was a science teacher and had various international jobs finishing his career at UNESCO) and search for the balance that might make the world more peaceful. This site is a small effort towards that goal.
When I moved back into range of KPFA it once again became a steady source for information.
Then their was the hickup of almost loosing the station to the rouge board... well, if nothing else it was a good wake-up call.
My day job in Silicon Valley doesn't leave much extra time for things, but does make it so running a site like this one is not overly taxing (I hope ;-) and with some luck, it will actually help make KPFA more resiliant.
At least that is my hope - more discussion ==> more resilliancy ==> stronger, more sustainable overall organization still in line with the grand mission of peace and justice.
