Have you noticed that the words " free speech" no longer appear on the
KPFA website, nor do they appear on the new KPFA logo and bumper
sticker? Well, now we know why. Censorship is alive and well at KPFA.
See below. Chandra

This evening's People's Voice Forum will not be heard on KPFA.
Management has censored the broadcast. Ironically, Rainjita Yang-Geesler
made this comment along with the announcement: "Pacifica Radio [the
network of which KPFA is the founding and flagship station] has been a
beacon of free speech for over 50 years. As a community sponsored radio
network, Pacifica has entrusted its future to the hands of the
community, for financial support and guidance. There is an untapped
power that lives within the communities who do not know media
institutions such as Pacifica exist. When these voices are reached,
heard and reflected back, relevancy becomes the underlying strength to
build from."
Call and email KPFA Interim General Manager Lemlem Rijio at (510)
848-6767, ext. 203, and igm@kpfa.org and KPFA
Interim Program Director Sasha Lilley at (510) 848-6767, ext. 209, and
ipd@kpfa.org to say how you object to the denial
of free speech on KPFA.
